Hello! I'm Bobby
Bobby currently serves as the University Records Officer at James Madison University overseeing the university's records management program. As a nationally recognized facilitator and consultant, Bobby provides project management leadership, strategic analysis, and records management guidance while also serving as HR Project Coordinator. He has addressed audiences at national, regional and state conferences on topics including electronic records management, paperless HR and change. Bobby is currently pursuing his second Master's degree in Adult Education and Human Resource Development. For more information please visit the AHRD website.

Before coming to JMU, Bobby worked for 13 years in broadcasting while traveling the country. Bobby lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with his wife and three boys.

I currently oversee the University's record management program while also providing strategic analysis, planning and coordinating for HR-related projects. I facilitate and promote paperless processes and improved efficiencies while managing change. I also provide consultation for other campus departments.

I began my journey at JMU in Finance and Fixed Assets. I coordinated all aspects of the physical and scanned inventories for university departments while maintaining good stewardship of university assets.
1996-2008
Radio Broadcasting
CBS RADIO/CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO/BONNEVILLE INTERNATIONAL
I spent 12 years working in small and large markets including Pittsburgh, Washington DC and Houston. Most of my experience centers around CHR (Contemporary Hit Radio) and on-air positions at B94 (WBZZ / Pittsburgh) and Z104 (WWZZ / Washington, DC) with an additional stop at Mix 96.5 (KHMX / Houston). I spent a portion of my career working with other formats including, Classic Rock (99.5 The Fox / KNFX / Bryan, TX), Hot AC (92.5 / WINC-FM / Winchester) and (Mix 104.7 / KKYS / Bryan, TX), Country (Thunder 107 / Manassas, VA), and Modern AC (99.5 The Pulse / WPLC / Manassas, VA). In the latter half of my career I assumed the responsibility of Program Director assembling CHR/Top 40 stations from scratch and re-designing stations to become highly competitive in the market place including (Candy 95 / KNDE / College Station, TX) and (Q101 / WQPO / Harrisonburg, VA).

I am currently pursuing a Master's of Science Education in Adult Human Resource Development with a concentration in Leadership and Facilitation. I anticipate completion in May of 2019.

I completed my first Master's degree in Corporate Communications and Marketing. This degree program included a heavy influence in the art of communication, advancing technologies combined with marketing principles and practices. Included was an internship with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

My Bachelor's degree included a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. Having transferred to Duquesne from Montgomery College in Rockville, MD after completing my Associated Degree I called Pittsburgh home for the next 4 years. I also had the honor of calling myself a student athlete playing Division I baseball for the Dukes in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
