LTLE 610: Principles of Instructional Design: This course became a true hands on experience in creating an instructional program. The process began with the design document which explained the approach and detailed the engineering plan for this learning intervention covering all phases of the instructional design process. Intertwined throughout the class were group case studies which allowed us to examine, analyze and evaluate real life situations before developing instructional design approaches to these unique situations. Finally the development of the prototype of the instructional unit or the instructional model allowed for a rich experience into the life of an instructional designer. The notion of creating all the instructional materials for delivery to a facilitator became a very rewarding experience!

EDUC 641: Learning Theories and Practice: This course places a heavy emphasis on learning theories and research which help pave the way for a greater understanding of how learning occurs, teaching strategies, research-based decision making, instructional design and delivery and the processes of learning, development, and teaching. I had the opportunity to connect theory and practice by conducting scholarly writing in the form of a term paper. My focus included the learning and instructional theories of the professional workshop I created for Talent & Development titled, "HR Document Retention".
